Anderson Nets 16 vs. Altoona

Rayanna Anderson (Wellsville) led Alfred State with 16 points as the Pioneers battled Penn State Altoona on the road on Saturday. The Lions used a big 2nd quarter en route to the 87-49 victory.

The 1st quarter was back and forth and the Lions led 19-15 after 10 minutes. Altoona outscored the Pioneers 24-7 in the 2nd and never looked back. 

Anderson connected on four 3-pointers and was the lone Pioneer in double figures with 16. Kelsey Shaulis (Ovid/South Seneca) finished with eight points while Emily Kelley (Andover) added seven points and six boards.

Finnley Christine led Altoona with 20 points as the Lions had five players finish in double figures. Alexis Cannistraci had 15 points and 18 rebounds, Sarah Hutson had 13, Sydney Snyder added 11, and Kaley Strittmatter chipped in 10.

The Pioneers are back on the court on Tuesday when they take on Utica at 6 p.m. The game is the make-up from the contest that was postponed on Monday (12/2) due to the winter weather.
