A trio of Pioneers scored in double figures but Alfred State was tripped up by Hilbert 77-50 on Wednesday evening.
Hilbert jumped out to a 24-14 lead after the first ten minutes but the Pioneers cut into the lead in the 2nd quarter and trailed 38-30 at the break. The Hawks put together a big 3rd quarter and never looked back.
Emily Kelley (Andover) led the Pioneers with 11 points and six boards. Jordyn Pettit (Wellsville) had a double-double with 10 points and 10 boards, Kelsey Shaulis (Ovid/South Seneca) netted 10, and Rayanna Anderson (Wellsville) finished with nine points and six assists.
Taylor Corts led the Hawks with 18 points while Emily Gawlak added 15. Ashley Schroeder finished with 14 and Ashley Repine chipped in 13 off the bench.
The blue & gold head to Mt. Aloysius on Saturday for a 4 p.m. contest.
