The Alfred State Women's Basketball team dropped the season opener to Keuka 78-44.
The Pioneers took an early lead 7-2 but Keuka answered back with a 14-0 run and never trailed. Alfred State trailed 16-12 after the 1st quarter and 31-24 at half. Keuka came out of half firing and opened up the lead and ASC never could put together a run to get back in the game.
The Pioneers scoring leader was Myah Fox (Arcade, NY / Pioneer) with 11 points and 8 boards. Jenna George (Dansville, NY / Dansville) tallied ten points on the night. The scoring leader of the game was Killian Mahoney with 19 total, putting up 11 in the third as the Wolves pulled away.
The Pioneers are back in action on Saturday when they host SUNY Delhi at 1 p.m.
