Alfred State Drops Game to Utica

The Alfred State Women's Basketball team lost today's game to Utica University 77-33.

After a slow first quarter, down 27-7, Alfred State had a solid second quarter. The Pioneers went 6-18 in the field as they kept the game where it was ending the half down 43-21.

The Blue & Gold's leading scorer was Faith McCombs (Amityville, NY) she had 13 points going 5-9 from the field and tacking on three free-throws. McCombs also had a team leading eight rebounds.

Four Utica players had double digit points Haley Burchhardt led with 15 on 6-16 shooting with three three-point makes. Karlee Nims and Hannah Stack each had 11 points and Kimberly Soriano tallied 10 points in the game.

The Pioneers play next on Friday, November 18, at Alfred University against Cazenovia in the first day of the 2022 Alfred Classic. The game is set to tip-off at 5:30 p.m.
