McCombs Has Record Game

The Alfred State Women's Basketball team played against Pitt.- Greensburg and fell 65-61. A game with twelve ties and eighteen lead changes, saw the Pioneers fall just short in the closing stages.

The Pioneers were up five with two minutes remaining, before a Greensburg three-pointer and two made free throws tied the game. Another made three for Pitt.- Greensburg, put the game on ice with 36 seconds remaining.

In a game where the team stat lines were almost identical, Alfred State's dominant force in the middle had a career game. Faith McCombs (Amityville, NY / Copaigue) had an outrageous 22 points and 21 rebound performance. McCombs is now tied for fifth place on the Alfred State single game rebound record book, after notching another double-double. McCombs also had four steals and two blocks and went 6-9 from the stripe. Falyn Lewis-Ellison (Rexville, NY / Whitesville Central School) had another productive showing. Lewis- Ellison had 14 points on 6-10 shooting and had three rebounds on the other side of the block.  

The Pioneers play again against Pitt.- Bradford on Wednesday, February 1 in Orvis Gym at 7 p.m.
