Oswego Downs Alfred State

The Alfred State wrestling team wrapped up the dual match season with a 36-9 loss to Oswego on Wednesday evening. The Pioneers got victories from Ryan Thierman (Portville), Konnor Kremer (Horseheads), and Brad Haggerty (Wellsville).

Thierman got the match started with a tight 2-0 victory over Jacob Yankloski at 125 lbs. to earn his 17th victory of the season. Oswego answered back with victories in the next four matches to take control.

Down the stretch Oswego took three of the last five matches. Kremer downed Mark Milisci 5-4 at 165 lbs. to stop the Lakers streak and Haggerty earned a 7-3 victory over Jeff Lombardi at 184. Haggerty has four of his last five matches.

The Pioneers head to the Baldwin Wallace Invitational on Saturday. Wrestling is slated to begin at 10 a.m.
