Wrestlers Win Northeast Conference Championship

The Alfred State wrestling team won the team championship at the NCWA Northeast Conference Championships held at the University of New Hampshire on Saturday. The Pioneers had seven wrestlers qualify for the NCWA Championships and scored 145 points.

125 lb. Ryan Thierman (Portville), 133 lb. Michael Boyle (Cooperstown), 165 lb. Konnor Kremer (Horseheads), and 174 lb. George VanValen (Ithaca) won their weight classes.

235 lb. Riley Andrews (York) and heavyweight Mitch Lattuca (Lancaster) finished 2nd while 149 lb. Gordon Trahan was 4th.

The Pioneer seven national qualifiers will head to Kissimmee, FL (University of Central Florida) for the NCWA Championships to be held March 10-12.
