Malenfant and Levey Win at NY Collegiate Championship

The Alfred State Wrestling Team competed today at the NY Collegiate State Championships. The Pioneers had seven top five finishers and two winners. Sean Malenfant (Averill Park, NY / Averill Park) won the 184 lb bracket. Zachary Levey (Horseheads, NY / Horseheads) won the 133 lb bracket, over teammate Elijah Moshenek (Ringgold, VA / Dan River) who placed second, due to a medical forfeit.

Malenfant had four wins all by pinfall. Levey had a win by major decision and two wins by pinfall. Moshenek had two wins by major decision.

Other top five finishers include Mason Drew (Hornell, NY / Hornell), Dom Vinci (Spencerport, NY / Spencerport), Justin Smith (), Travis Kauffman (Attica, NY / Attica), and Evan Albrecht (Patchogue, NY / Patchogue-Medford).

The Pioneers wrestle again on Saturday at home at 1 p.m.
