Twelve Pioneers Compete at JCC Open

The Alfred State Wrestling Team competed today at the JCC Open. The Pioneers weighed in twelve wrestlers. Some Standouts include Dom Vinci (Spencerport, NY / Spencerport), Keaton Renfrew (Pheonix, NY / John Birdlebough) and Nicholas Barrett (Avoca, NY / Avoca).

Nick Barrett weighed in for the heavyweight bracket and placed third today. Barrett went 4-1 with three decision wins and a pinfall victory. His one loss came by way of 2-1 decision.

Keaton Renfrew placed fourth in the 197 lb bracket. Renfrew went 3-2 today with three pinfall victories. Renfrew fell by pinfall in the third-place match to Brock Johnson from Jamestown Community College.

Dom Vinci placed fourth in the 141 lb bracket and went 3-2 on his day. Vinci notched a major decision win a decision win and a pinfall victory on his way to the third-place bout. Vinci lost in the third-place match in a 6-5 decision.
