Bio

Patrick Defoe returns to the Alfred State wrestling staff this season for his third season as a Volunteer Assistant Coach. 

A graduate of Alfred State College and alumni of the wrestling program during our club era, Defoe returns to Alfred State College working on campus as a Residence Director overseeing the Main Gate A & B dorm buildings. Defoe also works parttime in the Athletic Department helping with Sports Information and Gameday Management.  

Prior to making his return to Alfred, Defoe earned his master’s degree in Strategic Communications from Regis College in Massachusetts in 2020. While at Regis he worked as a Graduate Assistant for the athletic department serving primarily in the role of Game Operations Coordinator. While in this role some of Defoe’s responsibilities included athletic contest management, athletic facility management, coordinating transportation logistics for away competitions and supervising and training student workers. 

While studying at Alfred State, Defoe was a member of our gameday operations staff. He worked with the Assistant Director of Athletics where he specialized in facility and event management, while also assisting with equipment management and sports information. Additionally, Defoe spent time working on projects for event marketing, community relations and sponsorships. He graduated in 2018 with his bachelor’s degree in Sport Management.  

Defoe is from Franklinville, NY. Defoe was a member of the Panthers wrestling program where he took home individual titles in the Pine Valley Invitational and the Franklinville Invitational.
