Pioneers Sweep Meet

The Alfred State women's swimming team won all 14 events as they defeated Penn State Altoona 161-22 on Saturday afternoon. The Pioneers are now 3-1 overall and 2-0 in AMCC.

Jessie LaRue (Livonia) was a triple event winner on the day. She won 50 free (25.92), the 100 back (1:06.11), and the 200 IM (2:24.28).

Kathryn Lewis (Niagara Wheatfield), Sarah Stevens (Wellsville), Payton Armstrong (Highland Mills/Monroe Woodbury) all won two events on the day. Lewis won the 1,000 free (12:11.84), the 200 free (2:14.50), Stevens won the 50 breast (36.59), the 100 breast (1:19.99), and Armstrong won won the 100 fly (1:13.67) and the 50 fly (30.87)

Julia Urbina (Nesconset/Smithtown East) won the 50 back (33.42), Elizabeth Furmanski (Albion) won the 100 free (1:02.83), and Alina Kisluk (Hamburg) won the 500 free (6:01.97).

The 400 medley relay team of Samantha Towner (Wayland Cohocton), Hannah Snayczuk (Machias/Pioneer), Armstrong, and Elizabeth Jurs (Elba) won in 4:51.42 to start the day while the 400 free relay team of Lewis, Furmanski, Snayczuk, and Towner ended the day with a victory in 3:40.08.

The Pioneers will host Cabrini on December 1st after taking next week off for the Thanksgiving break.
