Strong Efforts Continue on Day Two

The Alfred State women's swimming & diving team continues to sit in 3rd place after two days of the Fredonia Blue Devil Invitational. The Pioneers have scored 370 points.

Jessie LaRue (Livonia) was 5th in the 100 back (1:03.64) to lead the Pioneers in individual events. Kelsey Lynch (Wellsville) was 8th in the 400 IM (5:36.69), Katherine Lewis (Niagara Wheatfield) was 8th in the 200 free in 2:03.38, and Hannah Snayczuk (Pioneer) was 8th in the 100 breast (1:18.89).

The trio of Sarah Stevens (Wellsville), Rebecca Stevens (Wellsville), and Leaha Langerman (Wayland Cohocton) finished 4th, 5th, and 6th in the 1 meter diving competition. Sarah Stevens scored 286.95 to earn 4th, Rebecca Stevens was 5th (277.50), and Langerman was 6th (267.85).

LaRue, Lewis, Elizabeth Drake (Lansing), and Sarah Stevens combined to finish 5th in the 200 free relay (1:46.51).

The final day of the Fredonia Invitational starts at 10 a.m. and concludes with the finals at 5 p.m.
