Women's Swimming & Diving Remain Undefeated in AMCC

The Alfred State women's swimming & diving team remained undefeated in AMCC action with a 171-111 victory at Franciscan University on Wednesday evening. The Pioneers won nine events on the night.

Jessie LaRue (Livonia) was a triple individual event winner. She won the 100 back in 1:05.87, the 200 back in 2:21.70, and the 200 IM in 2:28.16. The trio of Elizabeth Drake (Lansing), Kathryn Lewis (Niagara Wheatfield), and Sarah Stevens (Wellsville) all won a pair of events.

  • Drake won the 200 free in 2:15.55 and the 50 free in 28.46
  • Lewis won the 100 free in 1:00.16 and won the 500 free in 5:42.84 
  • Stevens won both 1 meter diving competitions with a score of 157.45 and 202.55.

The 200 free relay team of Lewis, Drake, Stevens, and LaRue was 2nd in 1:50.30 while the 200 medley relay team of Samantha Towner (Wayland Cohocton), Hannah Snayczuk (Machias/Pioneer), Payton Armstrong (Highland Mills/Monroe Woodbury), and Elizabeth Furmanski (Albion) was 2nd in 2:10.91.

The Pioneers (3-0 in AMCC action and 4-2 in dual meets) are back in the pool on Friday for another AMCC dual meet. They take on Pitt Bradford with the first event slated to begin at 5 p.m.
