Women's Swimming Earns Tight Victory

Alfred State earned a two-point victory over Fredonia on Friday evening to improve to 2-0 on the young season. The Pioneers defeated the Blue Devils 104-102.

Mikaela Snayczuk (Machias/Pioneer) and Madison Snayczuk (Machias/Pioneer) combined to win five individual events. Mikaela won the the 200 IM (2:23.68), the 100 fly (1:07.16), and the 100 breast (1:12.57) while Madison won the 200 free (2:09.17) and the 100 free (57.79). Madison was also 2nd in the 50 free (26.27)

Sarah Streeter (LeRoy/Byron Bergen) won the 1m diving with a score of 131.70.

Alyssa James (Pittsford Mendon) was 2nd in the 100 back (1:07.03), 3rd in the 500 free (5:57.73), and 3rd in the 200 free (2:11.51).

The 200 medley relay team of Sydney Koob (Plainwell, MI), Gabriela Leite (Little Rock, AR), Mackenzie Gillette (Elmira Notre Dame), and Sarah Konyndyk (Grand Rapids, MI) finished in 2nd (2:08.91).

AMCC action begins in two weeks with the Pioneers head to Penn State Behrend for a battle with the Lions.
