200 Medley Relay Sets New School Record

The Alfred State women's swimming and diving team set a new school record in the 200 medley relay as the Pioneers swam at Penn State Behrend. The Lions were able to earn the 162-123 victory.

The relay team of Alyssa James (Pittsford Mendon), Mikaela Snayczuk (Machias/Pioneer), Mackenzie Gillette (Elmira Notre Dame), and Madison Snayczuk (Machias/Pioneer) won the event with a time of 1:56.61.

Mikaela Snayczuk won a pair of events. She won the 100 fly (1:07.34) and the 200 IM (2:24.42). She was also 2nd in the 200 breast (2:41.58)

  • James won the 1000 free (11:57.27) and was 2nd in both the 100 back (1:07.03) and the 200 back (2:23.91).
  • Madison Snayczuk won the 50 free (26.24) and was 2nd in the 100 breast (1:15.42) and the 100 free (56.52).
  • Gillette won the 200 fly (2:39.86).
  • Gabriela Leite (Little Rock, AR) was 2nd in the 200 fly (2:41.25).
  • Sarah Konyndyk (Grand Rapids, MI) was 2nd in the 50 free (27.65).
  • The 400 free relay team of Olivia Ekstrom (Frewsburg), Konyndyk, Leite, and Sydney Koob (Plainwell, MI) finished 2nd in 4:14.25.
  • Sarah Streeter (Byron Bergen) was 2nd in the 1m diving (133.75).

Next Saturday the Pioneers host Wells and Franciscan starting at 1 p.m.
