Women’s Swimming and Diving Split at Utica

The Alfred State women's swimming and diving team split on Saturday at a tri-meet hosted by Utica College.

The Pioneers beat Utica 115-73 and lost to Nazareth 180-55 to move to 5-2 on the season.

Madison Snayczuk (Machias/Pioneer) finished first in the 50-yard freestyle (25.68) and Mikaela Snayczuk (Machias/Pioneer) won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:12.36) and placed second in the 200-yard IM (2:23.27).

The 200-yard medley relay of Alyssa James (Pittsford Mendon), Mikaela Snayczuk, Mackenzie Gillette (Elmira Notre Dame) and Madison Snayczuk took second (1:58.18).

James placed second in the 100-yard backstroke (1:06.22) and 500-yard freestyle (5:57.17), Snayczuk finished second in the 100-yard freestyle (56.46) and Gillette was third in the 100-yard butterfly (1:10.02)

The Pioneers are back in the pool on Wednesday, Jan. 19 for an AMCC tri-meet matchup with Medaille College and Pitt-Bradford.
