Pioneers Finish Second in AMCC, 400 Free Relay & Madison Snayczuk Set New Program Records
The Alfred State women's swimming & diving team finished second in the AMCC and fourth overall with 592.5 points at the Allegheny Empire Swimming & Diving Championships.
Head coach Mike Smiechowski was named Coach of the Meet for his team's success.
In the final day the 400-yard freestyle relay of Mikaela Snayczuk (Machias/Pioneer), Alyssa James (Pittsford Mendon), Madison Snayczuk (Machias/Pioneer) and Gabriela Leite (Little Rock, AR) broke the program record after finishing fifth in a time of 3:46.11.
Madison Snayczuk took second in the 100-yard freestyle in a new program record of 54.04.
Sarah Streeter (LeRoy/Byron Bergen) placed third in the 3-meter diving with a score of 274.00. Streeter was also named Women's Diver of the Meet.
James finished third in the 200-yard backstroke in 2:14.05.
Mikaela Snayczuk placed sixth in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:34.67.
Mackenzie Gillette (Elmira Notre Dame) took seventh in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:32.32.
The women broke a combined six program records throughout the four-day event.
RECORDS BROKEN:
The 200-yard medley relay of Alyssa James, Mikaela Snayczuk, Mackenzie Gillette and Madison Snayczuk placed first in the AMCC and second overall with a time of 1:52.27 which is a new program record.
The 400-yard medley relay of Alyssa James, Mikaela Snayczuk, Mackenzie Gillette and Madison Snayczuk broke the program record with a time of 4:11.04.
Madison Snayczuk broke the program record in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.45.
Alyssa James broke the program record in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:01.65.
