Pioneers wrap up home portion of season

The Alfred State women's swimming team wrapped up the home portion of their season on Saturday afternoon vs. Nazareth. The Golden Flyers won the meet 156-83 but the Pioneers had four winning performances.

Mallory O'Keefe (Brighton, CO/Stargate Charter) won two individual events on the day. She won the 1,000 free in 11:46.96 and the 500 free in 5:36.37. Mikaela Snayczuk (Machias, NY/Pioneer) earned the victory in the 200 IM, finishing in 2:23.55. O'Keefe and Snayczuk joined Anna Ivery (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee), and Madison Snayczuk (Machias, NY/Pioneer) to win the 200 medley relay in 1:55.81. The quartet also earned 2nd in the 200 free relay to end the meet (1:44.57).

Other top performances included: Ivery was 2nd in the 100 back (1:04.93), Mikaela Snayczuk was 2nd in the 100 breast (1:12.37), and Madison Snayczuk was 2nd in the 100 free (57.78).

The Pioneers hit the road next Saturday for a 1 p.m. meet at Hartwick.
