Pioneers Open New Year at Brockport

The Alfred State Women's Track and Field Team competed for the first time in the new year today at Brockport.

Emma Taggart finished 9 in the women's 6om hurdles with a time of 10.09. Taggart has had an outstanding season, coming off a record-breaking event before the new year. Taggart also competed in the women's high jump and finished fourth. Her jump height of 1.49, was one tenth behind the top finisher. Sarah Rivet had a time of 1:04.61 in the women's 400m final. Her time was good enough for a 9-place finish. Rivet beat out the 10-place finisher by nine hundredths of a second.

Laura Walter () competed in the pole vault and finished in tenth with a score of 2.60. Tobi Adebowale competed in the weight throw and finished in 8 place. She earned her top throw of 13.27 on her last attempt. Lily Schnell competed in the women's triple jump and finished in 8 place. Her best jump of 9.37 was on her first attempt.

The Pioneers head to Utica on Friday, January 27 for their next meet.
