Taggart Competes in Heptathlon; Finishes in 5th

On Thursday and Friday, Emma Taggart competed in the Susquehanna Multi & Easter Invite. Taggart completed the heptathlon today and finished in 5th place. The rest of the Women's Track and Field team competes tomorrow at Susquehanna.

On Thursday Taggart finished 4th in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.79. In the shot put, Taggart finished in 1st place with a throw of 10.57m. In the high jump, Taggart had a distance of 1.55m, good enough for 2nd in the event. In the last event of Thursday, Taggart finished in 8th place in the 200m with a time of 27.80. Heading into Friday, Taggart found herself in 3rd place of the heptathlon leaderboard, behind two all-americans. 

 In the second day of the heptathlon Emma Taggart competed in the long jump, javelin throw and the 800m. In the long jump, Taggart came in 6th place with a distance of 4.98m. In the javelin throw, Emma Taggart landed herself in 14th place with a throw distance of 16.79m. In the last event of the heptathlon, Taggart competed in the 800m race. She finished with a time of 2:40.30, landing her in 8th place of the event. 

After two days of competition, Emma Taggart finished the heptathlon in 5th place.
