Alfred State Places 2nd in CSAC Championships

The Alfred State Men's Track and Field team scored a total of 207 points and placed 2nd in the CSAC.

The Pioneers captured 7 individual conference championships and 9 individual athletes earned CSAC All-Conference honors.

Individual Conference Champions:

Emma Taggart won the 100m Hurdles for the 3rd straight year with a time of 16.39 seconds. Taggart also won the discus throw with a best attempt of 32.91m.

Sarah Rivet won the 400m Hurdles for the 3rd straight year with a time of 1:10.90. Rivet won the event by almost 3 seconds. 

Nicole Hume won the Hammer Throw with a best attempt of 40.01m. Hume won by almost 3m. Hume was also named to the All-Sportsmanship Team for the event.

Madison Snayczuk won the Long Jump with a best jump of 5.19m.

The Pioneer 4x100m relay team won their race. Lawery Edwards, Sarah Rivet, Madeline Cole and Madison Snayczuk won the event with a time of 51.26 seconds. The Pioneers beat out rival Behrend by 1/4 of a second. 

The Pioneer 4x400 team also won their event with a time of 4:21.07 seconds. Lily Schnell, Lexi Trautwein, Isabelle Popoff and Sarah Rivet beat out Behrend by more than 15 seconds. 

All-Conference honorees were named for top-3 finishes in their respective events:

Lawery Edwards  finished in 3rd in the 100m

Sarah Daunce finished in 3rd in the 100m Hurdles and 2nd in the Triple Jump.

Isabelle Popoff finished 2nd in the 400m and the 800m. Popoff competed in the 1500m and finished in 3rd place.

Nicole Hume placed 2nd behind Taggart in the Discus throw.

Madeline Cole competed in the Long Jump and finished just behind Snayczuk for 2nd place with her best jump of 5.05m.

Emma Taggart competed in the Shot Put and High Jump. She placed 3rd in High Jump and 2nd in the Shot Put.

Madi Snayczuk competed in the Triple Jump and placed 3rd.

Adriana Gill placed 3rd in the 400m Hurdles

Anna Hersom ran in the 10000m and placed 3rd. 

The Pioneer team will head to Allegheny on May 11, to continue their outdoor season ahead of the AARTFC event.
