Pioneers Finish AARTFC; Place 45th; Taggart 7th in Heptathlon

The Alfred State Women's Track and Field Team finished their regional competition at the AARTFC at Susquehanna today. The Pioneers placed 45th overall in the event.

Taggart finished the heptathlon today and placed 7th overall. The events today included the long jump, the javelin throw and the 800m race.

She placed 9th in the long jump portion of the heptathlon with a best attempt of 4.78m. In the javelin, Taggart placed 13th with a best throw of 17.81m. In the 800m, she placed 8th with a time of 2:40.06. 

Taggart competed in 4 events on the first day of the heptathlon, the first of which was the 100m hurdles. Taggart placed 4th in the event with a time of 15.61 seconds. Her best event of the day was the shot put, where she placed 2nd with a distance of 10.50m. In the high jump, Taggart was 5th again with a best attempt of 1.49m. In the 200m sprint, Taggart was 10th with a time of 27.46 seconds.

The Pioneers 4x100 team finished 23rd in the race with a time of 50.86 seconds. Lawery EdwardsSarah Rivet, Maddy Cole and Madison Snayczuk made up the Pioneer team that landed itself on #3 all-time in the Pioneer record book.
