Pioneers Ace Morning Test

The Alfred State volleyball team served 27 aces as they downed Lyndon State 25-2, 25-7, 25-5 in a Sunday morning match. The Pioneers have now won five of their last eight matches and are 5-6 on the year.

Bryanna Godfrey (Tioga) led the Pioneers with 10 aces while Alyssa Martin (Portville) and Sarah Raichlin (Binghamton/Chenango Valley) both finished with four. Martin, Morgan Hungerford (Lydonville), and Shannon Dwyer (Cutchogue/Mattituck) each recorded five kills as the team hit an amazing .512 (26 kills, five errors, 41 attacks) in the match. Raichlin was credited with 16 assists.Seven different Pioneers recorded kills and eight served aces.

The blue & gold are back in action on Saturday when they travel to D'Youville. At D'Youville the Pioneers will battle the Spartans and Baldwin Wallace.
