Volleyball Competes at Lycoming

The Alfred State volleyball team wrapped up play at the Lycoming Tournament on Saturday afternoon. The Pioneers fell 3-1 to Medaille and 3-0 to the hosts.

Madison Webster (Corning) led the Pioneers with 17 kills and 17 digs as Medaille took the 25-14, 23-25, 25-20, 25-19 victory. Kiara Perkins (Coudersport, PA) finished with nine kills and 12 digs, Sarah Raichlin (Binghamton/Chenango Valley) passed out 27 assists, and Jordan Stauffeneker (Lansing) chipped in eight digs.

Lindsay Howell finished with 13 kills, Elanor Clarke added 12, and Stephanie Ciesla added 11. Savannah Berry passed out 25 assists and Gina Appenheimer had 27 digs.

Webster recorded another double-double with 10 kills and 12 digs in a 25-17, 25-20, 25-19 defeat to Lycoming. Perkins added nine kills, Raichlin had 21 assists, and Stauffeneker led the team with 14 digs.

Lilly Singleton led the Warriors with 11 kills, Emily Morris passed out 27 assists, and Emily Hepner had 15 digs.

The Pioneers are back in action when they return home on Friday evening for a 7 p.m. rematch with Medaille.
