The Alfred State volleyball team ran their winning streak to three matches with a 25-12, 25-17, 22-25, 25-22 victory over Penn College in their 2019 home opener. The Pioneers are now 5-5 on the year.
The Pioneers collected 13 aces and hit .236 in the contest. Kiara Perkins (Coudersport, PA) led the way with 13 kills (.400 hitting percentage). She added four service aces and five digs. Alyssa Fox (Letchworth) finished with 10 kills and seven digs, Jordan McCooey (Horseheads) passed out 39 assists, and Alyssa Martin (Portville) chipped in eight kills. Christa Ealy (Sharpsville, PA) finished with six kills in one set while Maggie Shepard (Hornell) had three aces in one set.
Abbigale Mingus led the Wildcats with eight kills, Mackenzie Mahler passed out 21 assists, and Hannah Burnett finished with 19 digs.
The blue & gold have a week and a half off before beginning AMCC play on September 28th when they host Pitt Greensburg and D'Youville.
