Volleyball Begins Weekend

The Pioneer Women's Volleyball team started their weekend in Hartwick, losing to SUNY Morrisville St. 3-1.

After dropping the first set 25-23, Alfred State took a commanding second set, winning 25-16. Tied at one set apiece, the Pioneers eventually dropped the final two sets, 25-20 and 25-21. 

Keturah Gregory (Laurel, MD / High Point) was the team leader in kills with 11 and Karleigh Haines (Jamestown, NY / Jamestown) was right behind her, with ten kills of her own.

Racquel Gerstenberger (Schoharie, NY / Schoharie) was the team leader in digs with 11, and Nayomie Ferrer Santiago (San Juan, PR / Eastridge) put together 37 assists eight digs and four service aces.

The Pioneers are in action twice tomorrow. They start the day against William Smith at 10 a.m. and face host Hartwick at 12:30 p.m.
