Pioneers Defeat Conference Rival Behrend

The Alfred State Women's Volleyball team won in three sets against Penn.- State Behrend this evening in the Orvis Activities Center.

The Pioneers started the evening trailing the Lions in the first set, finding themselves down 22-17. Alfred State fought back to take the set 25-23. The second set was tight as well, and finished 25-23 in favor of the Pioneers. The third set ended 25-19, completing the victory for the Pioneers. 

Alfred State had three players in double figure digs, Nayomie Ferrer Santiago (San Juan, PR) lead with 16, Racquel Gerstenberger (Schoharie, NY) had 12, and Adeline Milligan (Pavilion, NY) tallied 11. Keturah Gregory (Laurel, MD) and Karleigh Haines (Jamestown, NY) provided 11 kills each for the Pioneers in the victory.

The Pioneers are on an eight-game winning streak, sitting at 2-0 in the conference and giving Penn State Behrend their eleventh loss of the season and first loss in the conference.

The team will compete on the road this weekend, heading to Mount Aloysius for a conference match. The game will be played Saturday, October 15th at 11:00am.
