Four Women's Volleyball Players Named to All-Conference AMCC Teams

The Pioneer Women's Volleyball team won the AMCC Championship and earned the first automatic team bid to the NCAA Tournament in Alfred State Athletic Department. The Alfred State team went undefeated in conference play and undefeated at home.  Four Alfred State players earned All-Conference honors.

Keturah Gregory earned a spot on the All-Conference first team. The senior middle blocker was the main focal point in the Pioneers offensive and defensive gameplan. One of the most feared middle blockers in the conference helped propel the Pioneers to heights that have never been reached. Gregory played in all seven conference matches, tallied 80 kills, and had a hitting percentage of .444 which was tops in the AMCC.

Karleigh Haines earned second team All-Conference honors. The Pioneers best outside hitter was a force on the wings all season. In the 25 conference sets she played, Haines tallied 94 kills and ten service aces. Her 3.76 kills per set was the highest in the AMCC during conference play, establishing herself as the most dangerous outside hitter in the conference.

Racquel Gerstenberger and Nayomie Ferrer Santiago were both named to the All-Conference third team. The only returning players on the All-Conference list for Alfred State, Gerstenberger and Ferrer Santiago will look to continue to improve their performance next season. Gerstenberger was the outside hitter on the opposite side of Karleigh Haines. The duo proved deadly all season. Gerstenberger tallied 58 kills, and she was also productive in the back line, notching 19 service aces in conference play. Ferrer Santiago was one of the best setters in the AMCC this season. She averaged 9.94 assists per set in conference play, tops in all the AMCC. She was also the leader in service aces in conference play.
