Dailey and Russell Lead Pioneers at Roberts

Alfred State freshmen Veronica Dailey (Addison) and Julia Russell (Prattsburgh) finished the 5k course at the Roberts Wesleyan Harry Anderson Invitational in under 20 minutes on Saturday.

Dailey finished 41st overall in 19:57.4 while Russell was 42nd in 19:59.2. Both runners averaged 6:26 per mile. Kathryn Watkins finsihed 140th (22:02.3), Katherine Frascella (Franklinville) was 167th (22:49.1), and Molly Heaphy (West Hempstead/Long Island Lutheran) was 187th (23:54.4).

Roberts Wesleyan won the women's title with a score of 40 followed by Geneseo and Mercyhurst. Alfred State finished 15th out of 18 teams that had full teams with 388 points.

The blue & gold head to Letchworth State Park next Saturday to compete in the Geneseo Invitational.
