Katherine Frascella (Franklinville) and AJ Gartland (Irondequoit) were recently recognized as the the Alfred State nominations for the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR) Award. The pair of Pioneers were part of 21 student-athletes nominated and were named to the AMCC All-Academic Team.
The Alfred State Athletic Department unveiled the 2019-20 All Newcomer Team. This group of student-athletes have made a large impact on their specific team and exhibited good character in their first year as a Pioneer.
73 student-athletes have earned AMCC All-Academic team honors for their work in the classroom. 44 members of this group were named peak performers for having a cumulative GPA of over 3.5 including ten that have 4.0 GPA's.
Alfred State has signed a five year agreement with BSN Sports and will continue to be an Under Armour affiliated athletic department. The contract includes both equipment and apparel.
Tim Giagios has been named the head coach of the Alfred State track & field and cross country program. He will also continue to serve as the Pioneers strength and conditioning coach.
Five Alfred State fall athletes have been named to the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) All-Sportsmanship Teams. One student-athlete from each team that sponsors the sport in the AMCC is selected by their own teammates.
The Alfred State women's cross country team wrapped up the 2019 season with a 45th place finish at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regionals in Bethlehem, PA. 349 athletes from 54 different institutions competed on the 6k course at Lehigh University.
The Alfred State cross country team will head to Bethlehem, PA this weekend to compete in the NCAA DIII Mideast Cross Country Championships. The race hosted by Muhlenberg University will be run on the campus of Lehigh University.

Caitlin Caltagirone (Holland) led the Alfred State's women's cross country team as the Pioneers finished 3rd out of eight teams at the AMCC Championships. The Championships were held in Erie, PA at Penn State Behrend.
