Schofield and Van Fleet Named ASC Athletes of the Week
Sierra Schofield (Delran, NJ) and Rylie Van Fleet (Maine Endwell) have been named the Alfred State Athletes of the Week.
Schofield was in net for all 196 minutes this week in a pair of tight one-goal contests. She made 11 saves in a double OT battle at Penn State Altoona and made five saves earlier in the week in a physical contest vs. Penn College. On the year, she has started all seven games and made 26 saves and has a 1.16 goals against average.
Van Fleet had a huge day with three interceptions in the Pioneers 35-28 victory over Defiance. All three of his interceptions led to Alfred State touchdowns and he accumulated 101 return yards. On top of the interceptions, Van Fleet had six solo tackles, a pass break-up, and a forced fumble. On the year, he is 3rd on the team with 25 tackles.
