Avallone Named AMCC Player of the Week

Alfred State sophomore Matteo Avallone (Mahopac/Bridgton Academy) has been named the AMCC Player of the Week after a stellar spring break for the baseball team. 

Avallone had a big week for the Pioneers, as he recorded a .441 batting average by going 15-for-34 at the plate. Avallone collected hits in nine of the team's 10 games last week. He hit .441 while recording a .794 slugging percentage. He smashed three homeruns, collected 15 RBIs, and scored seven runs. 

  • He was 3 for 4 with 2 RBI on March 10th vs. Roger Williams
  • He was 2 for 3 with a homer and 2 RBI on March 11th vs. Case Western
  • He was 2 for 3 with a homer and 2 RBI on March 11th vs. Roger Williams
  • He was 1 for 3 with a grand slam in game two vs. SKidmore on March 13th
  • He was 4 for 7 with 2 RBI in doubleheader vs. FDU-Florham on March 14th
  • He was 3 for 7 with 3 RBI in a doubleheader vs. Wooster on March 15th

In the abbreviated spring season, Avallone hit .368 (25 for 68) with six doubles, a triple, five homers, and 27 RBI.
