Jenkins Named ECFC Offensive Player of the Year - 16 Pioneers Named All-ECFC

Aaron Jenkins (Canfield, OH) has been named the ECFC Offensive Player of the Year. Jenkins along with 15 teammates have also earned All-ECFC honors following the most successful season for Alfred State during the NCAA Division III era.

Jenkins was named the ECFC Offensive Player of the Year and 1st team All-ECFC following a monster year. He has over 3,000 total yards and accounted for 29 touchdowns.

  • In the air, Jenkins has completed 51% of his passes for 2,211 yards and 14 scores. He has a 134.8 efficiency rating. He has six games with 200 or more passing yards and two 300+ yard performances. On the ground, Jenkins has rushed for 943 yards (4.7 per carry) and 15 touchdowns. He has four 100+ yard rushing performances and has 90 or more yards in six games. 

Jenkins was joined on the All-ECFC team by Shy'rel Broadwater (Cicero North Syracuse), Brock Weist (Harpursville), and Rylie Van Fleet (Maine Endwell).

  • Broadwater caught at least two passes in each of the Pioneers games this year. He has 33 total catches for 706 yards and two scores on the year. He had a season best nine catches for 249 yards and two scores vs. U of Rochester.
  • Weist continued to be one of the toughest defensive linemen in the ECFC. He played in eight games and has 41 total tackles and 4.5 sacks. 10.5 of his tackles are for a loss.
  • Van Fleet led the Pioneers with four interceptions on the season from his safety position. He also has 56 tackles, four pass break-ups, and a forced fumble.
    • Van Fleet was also named the honorable mention punter. On the year, he has a 35.4 yard average with a long of 59. Six punts landed inside the 20 and three were 50 or more yards.

    

Offensive players, Jake Palmer (Voorheesville), Noah Silfer (Liverpool), Cade Marks (Elmira), Harrison Scott (Carthage), Charles Hughes (Union Endicott) were 2nd team All-ECFC selections while Roman Napoleon (Allegany Limestone) and Caleb Maier (Livonia) were named honorable mention.

  • Palmer has 119 carries on the season and has 435 total yards and six scores. He has also caught 14 passes for 125 yards and a score.
  • Silfer (fullback) and Marks (tight end) have been key components of the blocking game for the offensive line. Silfer has appeared in all ten games and has four catches for 36 yards on the season while Marks has one catch for 16 yards.
  • Scott, Hughes, and Maier along with Silfer and Marks have been key to an improved rushing attack this year. The Pioneers have 1,564 total rushing yards on the season and are averaging 4.2 yards per carry. The team has also scored 23 times on the ground. The pass protection has led to 2,211 total yards in the air and 14 scores.
  • Napoleon had the most receiving yards on the team during the regular season. He has 783 yards on 32 catches (24.5 yards per catch) on the season.

The Alfred State offense is averaging 377.5 yards per game and 28.6 points per game.

Defensive players, Te'Hari Campbell (Auburn), Joel Smith (Livonia), and Nuhsar Mike (Syracuse/Leadership Academy) were named to the 2nd team while Anthony Allen (Staten Island/New Dorp) was named honorable mention.

  • Campbell has 44 total tackles from his defensive line position. He has one sack and 3.5 tackles for a loss.
  • Smith has been a difference maker from game one. He leads the team with 74 tackles and 5.5 sacks. He 13 tackles for a loss, an interception, and two fumble recoveries.
  • Mike continues to get better every week. He has 56 total tackles and 4.5 sacks. All 4.5 of his sacks came in ECFC play.
  • Allen has 42 stops and a pair of interceptions his defensive back position. He also has eight pass break-ups.

First year kicker, Dawson Fontaine (Bensalem, PA) was named honorable mention after connecting on 8 of 11 field goals on the season. He was also 32 of 36 on extra points.

Alfred State finished the regular season with a 6-4 overall record and a 5-1 mark in ECFC play. The six overall and five ECFC wins are both program bests during the NCAA era.

The Pioneers travel to UMass Dartmouth on Saturday to compete in the New England Bowl. The program's first postseason contest.
