The Alfred State men's basketball team saw Hamilton College end the 1st half on a 29-0 run en route to a 82-51 victory in the consolation game of the Medaille College Knee Center Holiday Tournament. The Pioneers and Continentals were tied at 22-22 with 7:14 remaining in the 1st half when they went on the deciding run.
Matt Hart led Hamilton with 14 points while Greg Newton finished with 13. Bradley Gifford recorded a double-double with 11 poitns and 15 boards. The Continentals shot 43.3% from the field and held a 44 to 28 advantage on the glass.
Tommy Hutson (Brooklyn/Susan McKinney) led the blue & gold with 19 points and seven rebounds. Tavon Moore (Syracuse/Bishop Grimes) finished with 11 points and six boards while Bradley Ferraro (Mt. Morris) chipped in nine. Alfred shot 37.5% from the field and turned the ball over 25 times.
The Pioneers open up the 2014 portion of their season on January 6th when they host SUNY Canton at 4 p.m.
