Reding Scores Season-High 24 points in Pitt. Greensburg Loss

Josh Reding (Spencerport) recorded a season-high of 24 points in the Alfred State men's basketball 102-95 loss to the Pitt. Greensburg Bobcats on Saturday evening inside Chambers Hall Gymnasium.

The Pioneers move to 8-16 overall and 4-12 in the AMCC while the Bobcats improve to 10-14 overall and 8-8 in the conference.

Alfred State shot 46.3% in field goals, 40.7% in three-pointers, 71.4% in free throws, picked up 30 rebounds and recorded 16 steals.

Pitt. Greensburg recorded 59.4% in field goals, 43.5% in three-pointers, 88.9% in free throws and had 43 rebounds.

Reding went 5-for-6 in three-pointers and 3-for-3 in free throws and had four steals. Tavion Williams (Bronx/FDA) added 17 points, six rebounds and two assists. Josh Romero (Bronx/Theodore Roosevelt) had 10 points and eight rebounds and Basheem Wilkerson (Brooklyn/John Jay) chipped in ten points and two steals.

The game was tied four times and the lead changed three times. Alfred State led for 43.7% of the game (17:29) while Pitt. Greensburg had the lead for 48.7% of the game (19:29). Both teams largest lead was 11 points.

The Pioneers went on a ten-point run for a 17-6 advantage with 15:06 left in the first half. The Bobcats were able to tie the game 50-50 by the end of the half.

Pitt. Greensburg out-scored Alfred State 52-45 to take the seven point win.

The men are back home for their last game of the season on Wednesday, Feb. 23 to play Rochester at 7 p.m.
