Pioneers Fall Short In The AMCC Semi-Finals

Pittsburgh, PA- The Alfred State men's basketball season comes to a close in the AMCC semi-finals against Penn State Behrend 73-65. The Pioneers finished the season with a 15-12 overall record and a 12-6 conference record.

Cody Schneider led the way with a double-double as he tallied 19 points and 14 rebounds. Dylan Perry added 13 points while Paris Jamison tallied 12 points. Michael Miller also ended the game in double figures with 10 points.

The Pioneers jumped out the gate with a 10-2 run. Then back-to-back Perry layups gave the Pios a 16-8 lead. Later in the half, the Lions tied the game at 23-23, before Jamison put in a layup and free throw to regain the lead. Then Zy Switzer knocked down a hit a three for the 29-25 lead. Following a Pioneers timeout, Jamison and Ryan Rosa knocked a three each as ASC took a 42-36 lead into half.

The Lions went on a run to start the second half, and the Pioneers fought back to tie the game at 55-55. From there the Lions were able to hold Alfred State at bay to claim the win.
