Jackson Powers (Syracuse/Westhill) scored with just over five minutes left to lift Alfred State to a 2-1 victory over St. Vincent on Saturday afternoon. The Pioneers are now 1-1 on the young season.
Mike Bupp (East Rochester) gave the Pioneers an early lead when he scored just 4:45 into the game after getting a pass from Powers.
The game remained 1-0 until the 81st minute when Caedon Seeger tied it up for the Bearcats. Andrews Mateos Carrion was credited with the assist.
Powers goal came at 84:24 of the game. Andres Mateos (Batavia) and Farhan Abdi (Rochester/School of the Arts) were credited with assists.
Thad Grierson (Perry) played all 90 minutes in goal and earned his first collegiate victory. He made one save.

Alfred State travels to Penn College on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. contest with the Wildcats.
