Pioneers Blank Redhawks

Alfred State outshot La Roche 22 to 4 as they defeated the Redhawks 4-0 in a key AMCC match-up on Saturday. The Pioneers improve to 5-10 overall and 2-5 in AMCC play.

Camren Larabee (Cuba Rushford) got the Pioneers on the board in the 12th minute when he scored his first of the season. 

Larabee made it 2-0 in the 67th minute when he scored after getting a pass from Giovanni Gibaja (Lima, Peru). Anthony Smith (Springville Griffith) added an insurance goal in the 84th minute and Farhan Abdi (Rochester/School of the Arts) scored in the 90th minute. Hunter Hollock (Tonawanda) picked up the assist on Abdi's goal.

Thad Grierson (Perry) made two saves to record his third shutout of the season.

Alfred State is now tied for 6th place with Pitt-Greensburg in the AMCC standings with one final game left.  The blue & gold end the regular season on Tuesday when they travel to Hilbert for a 3:15 p.m. contest.
