Garrett Potts and Jack Leahy Earns AMCC Player Of The Year Honors

Alfred, NY- Alfred State Men's Soccer garners five All-Conference honors including three of the year awards as announced by the conference office this morning.

Looking at the of the year awards Garrett Potts earned Co-Offensive Player of the Year and First-Team All-Conference honors. The Baltimore, MD native led the Pioneers attack with 18 goals. Potts also assisted on five goals to earn 41 points this season. The sophomore tallied seven game winning goals and had a .593 shot on goal percentage.

Jack Leahy is taking home Co-Defensive Player of the Year and First-Team All-Conference honors. The junior led the Pioneers backline all season, while putting in four goals including two in the conference semifinals to push Alfred State to the conference finals. The Pittsford, NY native also put in six assists as well.

Head Coach Gabe Kuhn earned Coach of the Year after leading the Pioneers to a 17-3-1 season. Alfred finished third in the conference, and coach Kuhn led Alfred to their first AMCC championship, and now to their first NCAA tournament appearance in program history.

Jackson Powers also garnered First-Team All-Conference honors. The Syracuse, NY native tallied seven goals and a team-high seven assists. The junior has 21 points on the season and has put in three game winning goals.

Henry Leahy earned second-team All-Conference honors, while Jean Baptiste-Kagde earned Third-Team All-Conference honors. H. Leahy has put in five goals this season, including one game winner. While Baptiste-Kagde was an important part of the Pioneers backline.
