Lady Pioneers and Lady Jaguars Split
Alfred State and Jamestown Olean split a softball doubleheader for the second time this season on Thursday. The Jaguars won the opener 10-6 while the Pioneers won the nightcap 10-2.
In the first game, JCC jumped out to a 4-0 lead after two innings and never looked back. Alfred cut it to 4-2 in the 3rd but JCC led 10-3 after four. Aubri Mosier (Rome, PA/Northeast Bradford) and Kristen Potter (Harrison Valley, PA/Northern Potter) each collected two RBI each.
In the nightcap, the Lady Pioneers received two key triples to key the victory. Claire Hartman (Alden) connected on a three-run triple in the 4th and Lynn Wood (Westfield) added a two-run triple in the 7th to put the game out of reach.
Wood was 3 for 4 on the day with 2 RBI while Hartman was 2 for 4 with 3 RBI. Kara Anderson (Ontario/Wayne) was also 3 for 4 while Mosier collected another two hits.
The Lady Pioneers are now 4-16 overall on the season and are scheduled to take on Monroe CC on Friday afternoon. First pitch in Alfred is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
