Trio of Pioneers Earn ACAA Honors

Alfred State softball players Zoe Derr (Elmira Heights/Thomas Edison), Morgan Franklin (Wellsville), and Ashley Peterson (Maybrook/Valley Central) have been honored with All-ACAA honors. Derr and Franklin were named to the first team while Peterson was a second team selection.

Derr, a senior outfielder, was second on the team with a .271 batting average (13 for 48). She collected three doubles, a triple, and drove in three. She played and started in 19 games for this spring.

Franklin, a freshmen outfielder, led the team with a .299 batting average (20 for 67). She led the team with eight runs scored this season. She also collected two doubles, two triples, and drove in five. Franklin started in all 25 games this season.

Peterson, a freshmen first basemen, started in all 25 games this season and finished with 13 hits, two doubles, and 5 RBI. Defensively, she only committed one errror in 142 chances (.993 fielding percentage).
