Wonica Named AMCC Player of the Week

Kailey Wonica (Staten Island/Moore Catholic) has been named the AMCC Player of the Week after collecting hits in all six of Alfred State's games this past week.

Wonica was 14 for 21 (.667 batting average and a 1.048 slugging percentage) on the week. She collected five doubles, a home run, six RBI, and scored five times. She collected multiple hits in five of the games and had three hit games.

Versus Penn State Behrend she was 5 for 6 with a RBI, versus LaRoche she was 6 for 9 with two doubles, a homer, and 2 RBI, and vs. Pitt Greensburg she was 4 for 6 with 3 RBI.

Currently she is .513 overall and .574 in AMCC play. She has 10 extra base hits and 14 RBI.

The Pioneers have a pair of doubleheaders this week as they wrap up the regular season. They travel to Hilbert (at Gowanda High School) on Tuesday and then head to Houghton on Friday.
