Kelley and Booth Double-Double in La Roche Loss on Senior Day

Emily Kelley (Andover) and Maisy Booth (Canisteo Greenwood) recorded double-doubles in the Alfred State women's basketball 65-57 loss to the La Roche University Redhawks on Saturday evening inside Orvis Gymnasium.

The Pioneers move to 10-11 overall and 7-7 in the AMCC while the Redhawks improve to 15-5 overall and 11-2 in the conference.

Before the game the Pioneers honored their three seniors Emily Kelley, Skylar Shaulis (Ovid/South Seneca), and Maisy Booth in a little ceremony.

Alfred State shot 29.1% in field goals, 14.3% in three-pointers, 81.8% in free throws and picked up 58 rebounds.

La Roche recorded 40.3% in field goals, 23.5% in three-pointers, 38.9% in free throws and had 44 rebounds.

Kelley logged her 11th double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds and had three assists, two steals and two blocks.

Booth scored 13 points and had 11 rebounds.

Calesta Reigelman (Johnson City) scored 11 points, had six rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Skylar Shaulis (Ovid/South Seneca) chipped in eight points and picked up 11 rebounds.

The game was tied 16 times and the lead changed 30 times.

The Pioneers led 31-28 at halftime and had a 46-42 advantage by the end of the third.

The Redhawks out-scored Alfred State 23-11 in the fourth quarter to take the eight-point win.

The women are back home Wednesday, Feb. 16 to host AMCC opponent Medaille at 5:30 p.m.
