Ainsley Griffin scored 6:46 into the second overtime to lift Penn State Altoona to a 2-1 AMCC victory over Alfred State on Saturday afternoon. The Pioneers are now 4-3 overall and 1-1 in AMCC play.
After a scoreless 1st half, Altoona got on the board in the 53rd minute when Sarah Hutson tucked one inside the right post.
Emily O'Duffy (Livonia) tied it in the 73rd minute when she floated a shot past the keeper from the right corner of the box. Allison Lundmark (Jamestown/Southwestern) was credited with the assist.
Neither team could get the next goal in regulation and neither team could find the back of the net in the first extra period. The Lions sent the ball in the box and after a deflection Griffin was able to control the ball and net the game winner.
The Pioneers are next in action on Wednesday they travel down 390 to take on Geneseo at 7 p.m.
