Pioneers Tally 10 Wins And Earn National Recognition

Erie, PA- The women's team had a strong day in the pool as they took down Penn State Behrend 149-139. Mallory O'Keefe rebroke her 200 fly record and the 200 free relay earns a top-25 ranking in the nation.

O'Keefe notched three wins on the day. She started the day by rebreaking her 200 fly school record she set last week. In that event she touched the wall in 2:18.00, while Emma Merrick finished in third with a time of 2:24.44. She followed with a 5:32.14 in the 500 free for first place. Then in the 1000 free, O'Keefe pulled away from the pack to finish in 11:20.31 for first place.

Looking at the 200 free relay, the team of Madison Snayczuk, O'Keefe, Gabriela Leite, and Anna Ivery took first place with a time of 1:41.47. With that time, they earned a spot in the nation's top-25. Then in the 200-medley relay, the team of Alyssa James, Mikaela Snayczuk, Gabriela Leite, and Emma Merrick finished in 1:54.44 for first place.

Merrick also earned two wins. First, in the 200 breast, she touched the wall in 2:39.64 for first, followed by Mikaela Snayczuk in second and Orla Reilly in third. Then in the 200 IM, Merrick (2:21.44) edged out Mi Snayczuk (2:23.05) for the win.

Madison Snayczuk notched wins in the 100 free and the 200 free. In the 100, she went 55.59 for first, while Anna Ivery touched the wall next in 56.31 for second. Then in the 200 free, Ma. Snayczuk pulled away from the pack to finish in 2:02.76. Ivery also had a second-place finish in that event.

Ivery notched a win in the 50 free with a time of 25.27, and Mi. Snayczuk tallied a win in the 100 breast, 1:12.06.
