The Pioneers Notched Eight Wins To Take Down Altoona

Altoona, PA- Alfred State tallied six individual wins on their way to taking down Altoona 125-72.  Mallory O'Keefe took down another Pioneer record as well.

In the 100 fly, O'Keefe set a new record as she touched the wall in 59.93 seconds for first place, she beat out the previous record by .01 second. Gabriela Leite touched the wall a few seconds later for second place.

Alyssa James tallied a win in the 1000 free with a time of 11:53.23, while Lydia Lapierre finished a few seconds behind her for third. James also came in second in the 100 back after touching the wall in 1:07.67. Then in the 500 free Lapierre came in second with a time of 6:03.04.

Emma Merrick notched two wins on the day. Her first win came in the 200 IM, where she broke away from the pack to touch the wall in 2:19.35. Mikaela Snayczuk finished right behind her in second. Then in the 100 breast, the Pioneers finished 1, 2 ,3, with Merrick leading the way. She pulled away from her teammates to finish in 1:11.29, followed by Mi. Snayczuk (1:13.57), and Orla Reilly (1:14.67).

Anna Ivery won the 200 free with a time of 2:05.71, while Madison Snayczuk won the 50 free after touching the wall in 25.15.

Then the Pios won both the 400-medley relay and the 400 free relay. The team off Ivery, the Snayczuk sisters, and O'Keefe touched the wall in 4:11.13 for first. The in the 400 free relay the team of Ma. Snayczuk, Leite, O'Keefe, and Ivery won with a time of 3.46.52.
