Pioneers Lead The AMCC After Day One

Webster, NY- The Alfred State women's swimming and diving team leads the AMCC with 122 points. They are in second place overall trailing Hartwick by two points.

The Pioneers opened the meet with a third-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of Alyss James, Mikaela, Gabriela Leite, and Adrianna Gill touched the wall in 1:51.63.

In the 800-yard free relay the team of Madison Snayczuk, James, Emma Merrick, and Mallory O'Keefe came in second with a time of 7:58.08. With that time, they set a new school record, an AMCC Championship meet record and an AMCC conference record.

The Pioneers return to the pool tomorrow at 10 am for day two of the championship.
