Volleyball Team Raises $750 for Allegany County Cancer Services

The Alfred State volleyball team hosted a Virtual Pink Pride Event that raised $750 for Allegany County Cancer Services.

The team sold raffle tickets and held a Facebook Live event to announce the winners of 11 different gift cards. They raffled off four $25 gift cards to Terra Cotta/Collegiate, two $25 gift cards to Brandy's Cup of Joe, two $25 gift cards to Club 57, two $25 gift cards to Sprague's Maple House, and a $50 gift card to ACES Campus Store.

The team has partnered with Allegany County Cancer Services for a Pink Pride event the past few years. Allegany County Cancer Services, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that was founded in 2006 that values a community based response for residents of Allegany County, living with a cancer diagnosis. Since 2007, they have assisted 723 residents of Allegany County with cancer diagnosis related expenses with over $324.816.25.

Earlier this month the volleyball team joined forces with the wrestling team for a Breast Cancer Awareness kickball game. Members and staff of both teams took time to fill out "I Stand For" signs to show whom they support or honor as they fight breast cancer.
