Pioneers Fought Hard But Fell To Westminster

Erie, PA- A slow start hinders the Pioneers day as the fall to Westminster 3-0 (14-25, 17-25, 19-25), dropping them to 2-2 on the season.

Racquel Gerstenberger (Schoharie, NY) led the way offensively with nine kills, while adding 13 digs. Alayna Tomlinson (Rochester, NY) added six kills, nine digs, and three aces, while Erin Gregoire (Baldwinsville, NY) added five kills. Nayomie Ferrer Santiago (San Juan, PR) ended the day with 23 assists and four digs.

The opening set started tightly contested, with the Pioneers tying the set at 12-12 behind a 6-0 run. On that run Tomlinson notched three aces while Gregoire added a kill. From there, Westminster went on a run to take the set.

Westminster carried that momentum into the next two sets to win the match.

Alfred State will look to rebound in tomorrows double header against Utica at 1 pm and Grove City at 3 pm. Both games will be streamed here.
