Nick Escalante was involved in all three goals as SUNY Canton defeated Alfred State 3-0 at Pioneer Stadium. The Roos improve to 5-3 while the Pioneers are now 4-6.
Escalante got Canton on the board 10:01 into the contest. He assisted on Nick Magliano's goal in the 28th minute and then added an insurance goal in the 63rd minute to cap his solid day.
Alfred held a 14 to 12 shot advantage in the game (8-6 Canton led in shots on goal). Patrick Anunziatta recorded six saves in the shutout. Nickolas Weir (Harrisville) made five saves for Alfred St.
The Pioneers are back at it on Wednesday when they host Elmira College at 7 p.m.
